The wait is finally over as the Korean smartphone giant Samsung has started shipping its flagship smartphones Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ in India from Friday. The company had first unveiled the two smartphones at a special event in New York on March 29, 2017. The phones made their way to India on April 19, 2017. And finally, they are available for sale on Flipkart and Samsung India e-store. These smartphones will also be available offline on selected retail showrooms.
While Samsung Galaxy S8 is priced at Rs 57,900, Galaxy S8+ will be available for Rs 64,900. The two phones will be available in three colour variants in India– Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Maple Gold.
Talking about the specifications, there is very little difference between Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. While the former sports a 3,000 mAh battery and comes with a 5.8-inch display, the latter is powered by a 3,500 mAh battery and comes with a 6.2-inch display.
Samsung will be shipping the Samsung Exynos 8895 SoC processor variant of the two smartphones in India (sorry folks, if you were planning to get your hands on Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 variant). Both the smartphones come with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. The super AMOLED display of the two phones is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection IP68 dust and water resistant technology.
