It’s finally here! Popular photo-sharing app Snapchat has finally introduced some much-awaited updates to its iOS app which include a search bar on top of the app among other features. The update was announced earlier this month. However, at the time, it was available for the Android users only.
Snapchat has always been criticised for being a bit confusing to navigate. While the look and the user interface of the app, which has a ‘secret club’ like appeal, is good for youngsters, it’s a bit complex for the young adults, who form the core demographics of the app.
The new updates are aimed at making navigation on the app easier and faster. The app has introduced several changes as a part of the revamp. To begin with, Snapchat has added a ‘Search’ bar on top of the app, which acts as an access point to a variety of features. You can start an immediate chat by pressing and holding on to the profile of a fellow Snapchatter. You can even find specific stories by publishers using the title. Further, you can not only tap and hold to see the mini profile of other Snapchatters but also tap on the ghost emoji or Bitmoji to the left of the search bar to view your own profile, where you’ll see a list of your frequent contacts and your ‘best friends’.

If this failed to impress you, there’s more. The app is also expanding ‘Our Story’ feature to allow Snapchatters to submit their content, a feature that was previously limited to pre-determined events.

The new features are available on the iOS app and the Android users can try these features by signing up for the beta version of the app in the Google Play Store.
