In the era of reinvention our favourite social messaging tool, WhatsApp has been leading the trends lately. After introducing several major changes to its platform (goodbye status messages!) last month, the app is getting yet another update. Apparently, WhatsApp is introducing a new ‘Info’ feature to its platform. This new feature will give the users detailed information about every individual chat window. With the latest update, users can see the exact number of media files, GIFs and texts they have exchanged in every individual chat. The update will also give details on which chat is occupying how much space in the app.
However, there’s a catch. The update is available only for its Windows app for beta testers on WhatsApp v2.17.86 (sorry iOS and Android users).
Last month the app bid adieu to its age old ‘status’ feature replacing it with Snapchat image-like statuses which disappear in 24 hours. The change, however, received mixed reactions from the app’s large user base, wherein most people expressed dislike for the changeover. And it seems that the app has taken note of the wide dissatisfaction among its loyal users. The company is reportedly bringing back the status feature albeit with a new name. The word is that the company is rejigging the text status under the ‘Tagline’ feature.

The feature has already been introduced in the beta version of Windows app v2.17.82 and iOS app v2.17.6.21. Android users will have to wait a little bit longer to get the get the good news. If you too feel left out, sit tight and wait for the update!
