Soon the mobile numbers starting with digit ‘7’, ‘8’ or ‘9’ will be the thing of past. Now, according to the latest buzz, Reliance Jio will soon launch the phone numbers starting with digit ‘6’ for the new users.
As per the reports, the Department of Telecom (DoT) has allowed Reliance Jio to start offering new phone numbers with 6 as the first digit as it has received huge number of requests for new connections.
Initially, the DoT has issued 6-series MSC codes in Assam, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu. Reliance Jio reportedly got 60010-60019 MSC codes in Rajasthan, 60020-60029 MSC codes in Assam and 60030-60039 in Tamil Nadu.

In Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, it received 7-series MSC codes, and in Kolkata and Maharashtra, it received 8-series MSC codes.
So, those who are looking to get a new Reliance jio connection, they may get the new number starting with digit 6 Assam, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu.
According to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s recent data, Indian subscriber base grew by 21.02 million to cross 1.12 billion in November 2016. Most of the credit for this goes to Reliance Jio.
Since the commencement of operations on September 5, Reliance Jio reached 72.4 million subscribers as of December 31.
Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced extension of free domestic voice calls and data till March 31.
He announced ‘Jio Happy New Year Offer’ of free data, voice, video and applications till March 31 for new users joining from December 4 as well as the existing ones.
