From Dilip Kumar back in the day to Ranbir Kapoor today, Bollywood has never had a dearth of stars. But ever so often, there comes an actor whose charisma just cannot be contained within the term “star” any longer. And hence, a superstar is born. But, to be honest, Bollywood does not have a scarcity of superstars either. Names such as Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar. Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan immediately come to mind when somebody mentions the term “superstar”. But, who is the biggest Bollywood superstar of them all?
Thanks to one curious Quora user, we might have just settled this never-ending debate. A query posted on the question-and-answer site inquired, albeit in a vague manner, just who is the biggest superstar in Bollywood. Needless to say, there were hundreds of responses and they were as appalling as one would think.
For starters, Rajinikanth, the Thalaiva, apparently does not have enough fans rooting for him. Aside from the noise, Rajinikanth, who is a God in his own right, got the least number of votes. Who would have thought, right?
With scattered mentions of Dilip Kumar, Irrfan Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Randeep Hooda, Ranveer Singh and Hrithik Roshan (seriously?), the super long debate continued.
The next in the barrel from the bottom is… *drumroll* Aamir Khan! Yes, the “perfectionist” of Bollywood who has delivered hits after hits is hardly a superstar in the eyes of fans.
If it is any consolation for the Dangal actor, he is quickly followed by Akshay Kumar. Despite the actor’s versatile nature and loyal fans who deem his movies inspirational to the youth, he is not the biggest Bollywood superstar.

The votes leap way ahead with three actors in the lead- Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan. It is surprising that even after being in the industry for nearly five decades, Big B has still maintained his magnetic charm. But unfortunately, that’s the end of it. The 74-year-old actor was placed last in the top 3.
Salman or SRK. Who wants it more?
Okay, the contenders of this final showdown had to be more or less predictable. There’s no denying that these two actors rule Bollywood and have fans who follow them religiously. Their fans often engage in heated debates among themselves, bickering about which one of these superstars is better. Well, we finally have an answer. And the winner is…
Shah. Rukh. Khan.
The King Khan of Bollywood stands true to his name as he surpassed his contemporary by a sizeable margin. Sorry, Bhai-fans but what’s real is real. At least on Quora.

BTW, not that it’s any of our business because who are we even to question fans but does nobody think of actresses when asked about a ‘superstar’? With one mention each for Alia Bhatt and Sunny Leone, the only actresses on the list were Deepika Padukone at 2 votes, and Priyanka Chopra at 3. But hey! That’s okay, because actors obviously trump actresses being male and all…
