This woman's Reddit thread just got diverted from her story of weight-loss to an entirely different topic. Read on

The internet never fails to surprise us. People on social media will go to any lengths just to start a conversation, just to get under someone’s skin or just to vent out the venom that has been stored in their coal black hearts for years. This woman on Reddit decided to share a story about how she had lost 50 lbs and overcome her body image issues. Her Reddit post goes by the title: Two years ago, I decided to make a change. Now 50 lbs later, she is training for a half marathon. The picture she posted online showed a before and after comparison with the woman posing in a dress, she had worn to go to work. With the weight loss regime, she managed to achieve a decent fit figure, which is when she decided to create this viral post.

Going by the handle @Scienceninja3212 this woman decided to share an achievement of her life of how she had lost so much weight, however, Reddit users had other plans for her. Some people decided to mock her, others were busy cracking jokes about her son who appeared partially in the picture. The woman was cheerful at first, responding calmly, even joking alongside with the people who commented on her thread, but soon the Reddit thread lost all context.

Like this one person who asked her:

And another curious fellow wanted to know if the kid was included in the weight loss:

Everything seemed to be going fine until someone noticed a difference in her username from Scienceninja3212 to Imissmyusername. Once questioned, the woman unearthed an entirely different story, apparently, the woman had been stalked by her ex after posting the picture:

And then while the mother was just telling about how she loved to carry her son up the stairs as an exercise but someone got touchy about that as well. I mean a mother can carry her child as long as she feels comfortable doing it.

What has the world really come to? Must we all be so terribly mean all the time?
