At least 10 people have been killed and fifty more have been reportedly injured in twin explosions that took place on a train in a metro station in St Petersburg, according to media reports.
According to the local media, the blast involved a device filled with shrapnel. Russian President Vladimir Putin has been informed.
Local police have cordoned off the area. The rescue operation is on. The injured have been taken to a nearby hospital.
