In a shocking incident happened in Pakistan, around seven people were killed and several injured after a bomb exploded outside Lahore’s Punjab Assembly during n ongoing protest on February 13.
A group of several chemists and pharmaceutical manufacturers were protesting at the assembly gate when an explosion took place in a nearby vehicle. There was a significant presence of law enforcers in the area due to the protest.
The DIG Traffic Lahore Capt (retd) Ahmad Mubin was killed in the explosion along with several casualties among law enforcement personnel.
Soon the rescue work commenced and ambulances and fire tenders reached the spot. Those who sustained injuries were taken to the Mayo Hospital and Ganga Ram Hospital.
To maintain the law and order, contingents of Pakistan Army and rangers have also reached the site and an emergency has been declared in all hospitals of Lahore. The security forces have cordoned off the area.
Earlier on February 7, the National Counterterrorism Authority (NACTA) issued a notification to the Home Secretary, Punjab, the Provincial Police Officer and DG Pak Rangers Punjab stating possibilities of a possible terrorist attack in Lahore.
NACTA also mentioned that the fractures in Lahore including important buildings, hospitals, and schools, must be kept under strict vigilance.
