An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 on the Richter scale hit Swat district and nearby areas in Pakistan on January 9.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has confirmed the epicentre and said,”The epicenter of the quake was Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region”.
As of now, no casualties have been reported so far.
Previously this month, an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 on theRichterr scale was felt in Swat, Chitral, Malakand and adjoining areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The epicentre of the earthquake was in the Hindukush range in Badakhshan area of Afghanistan. No loss of life or property was reported.
