There is a sigh of relief in the Libyan plane hijack case as the Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat has tweeted and confirmed the release of 109 passengers from the plane. The plane which was hijacked on December 23 had 111 passengers on board. These passengers include 82 males, 28 females and 1 infant.
PM Muscat further confirmed that the release of crew members is underway.

This internal flight travelling from from Sebha to Tripoli in Libya, was diverted to Malta.
The plane potentially has two hijackers and some crew members on board, PM Muscat tweeted. The hijacker who was reportedly armed with hand grenades had told the plane crew that he is ‘Pro-Gaddafi’.
