In a shocking incident, Lahore city was throttled by a bomb explosion which occurred in the commercial area within Lahore’s Defence Y Block on February 23. As reported by a Pakistani daily, at least eight people have been reportedly killed and 15 others sustained injuries in this explosion which happened inside a restaurant and has caused considerable damage to nearby buildings.
However, nature or cause of the blast has not been yet determined but the Punjab Government on its official Twitter page has claimed that the explosion was caused by a generator blast. Also, the rescue officials have reached the spot and the work is in progress.

the CCTV footages recovered by the investigating team shows shattered windscreens in cars parked nearby as well as rubble from the damaged building strewn across the road.
The law minister of the Punjab province of Pakistan Rana Sanaullah said the teams are trying hard to find out the root cause of the blast. He said,”The area has been encircled. Nothing can be said about the nature of blast yet.”
“There was no reason to target the building. I have been informed that plaza was not inaugurated yet,” he added.

The entire area has been cordoned off by law enforcement personnel and a search operation is ongoing.
