Former porn star Mia Khalifa has reportedly got a threat from ISIS. She said that the Islamic State has threatened to behead her in gruesome mocked-up execution photos.
According to a report of Daily Mail, Khalifa, in a recent radio interview with The Sports Junkies said that she won’t give the extremists what they want: “You can’t show weakness. That’s exactly what they’re looking for. I really try and just make it look like it rolls off, but I’ll admit, it gets to you after a while.”
Khalifa moved from Beirut, Lebanon, to the US at the age of 10 before moving to Miami, where she’s currently based.
The 21-year-old history graduate’s brief stint in the porn industry drew criticism from many, including those in the Middle East who branded her a ‘disgrace’ to the region.
Mia Khalifa had sparked a controversy after many took issue with a scene from one of her videos showing her having sex while wearing a hijab, part of traditional female Muslim dress.
Khalifa – who comes from a Christian family had told The Washington Post in 2015 that she was surprised that this scene in particular caused anger and was meant to be satirical.
She was also criticised for her tattoos relating to Lebanon, including the opening line from the Lebanese national anthem and another of the Lebanese Forces Cross.
Khalifa now makes her living covering sports and pop culture through her own channel on the live-streaming service Twitch.
Meanwhile, Lebanon began transporting an estimated 400 armed Islamic State fighters and family members from its northern border to the militants’ stronghold in eastern Syria, according to a New York Times report.
The militants were transferred as part of a deal between the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, and its Syrian and Lebanese enemies. Under the agreement, the bodies of eight people believed to be Lebanese soldiers were to be returned, while Islamic State militants were to receive 17 air-conditioned buses, 11 ambulances and a free pass through territory held by the Syrian government.
