The incident in which an Indian woman was found murdered in New Jersey along with her seven-year-old son may not be a hate crime as the parents of N.Sasikala ( deceased) who live in Andhra Pradesh alleged that their son-in-law N. Hanumantha Rao is involved in the murder of his wife and son.
Parents of N.Sasikala, Venkateshwarlu and Krishna Kumari said that N. Hanumantha Rao had an extramarital affair and his behaviour towards their daughter was not good for past two years. They said that it was Rao who informed them about the murder of their daughter and grandson and hung up the phone.
N. Saikala (40) and her son Anish Sai were found murdered by N. Hanumantha Rao at their residence in Maple Shade township flat in New Jersey in the US. He found bodies of his wife and son in a pool of blood when he returned from office.
Meanwhile, New Jersey police is looking into it as a case of homicide and after the incident the officials took Rao for the questioning . The statement given by Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office to PTI said, “The preliminary investigation revealed that both victims were stabbed multiple times.”
“Contrary to some media reports, at this point there is no indication that this is a hate crime connected to the fact that the victims are of Indian origin”, the statement added.
