In a huge embarrassment for the for Pakistan occupied Kashmir President Masood Khan, a journalist in the United Kingdom asked him to remove Azad from his title since there has been no freedom in the PoK. During an interaction with the President, a reporter sad: “It’s my request that you write Southern Kashmir with your name but not Azad because this is an insult to the word. There is no freedom for us. The Act that you have doesn’t give you any powers,” he said.
The question forced those with Khan to ask the reporters to switch off the camera stating that they do not have the right to record those questions on camera.
India and Pakistan have been warring over the PoK (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) which is called Azad Kashmir in Pakistan. The region has been designated as “Pakistani-controlled Kashmir” (or Pakistan Administered Kashmir) by United Nations and other international organisations.
The video has raked a storm on social media with people questioning Khan’s authority in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. “How will they answer when they don’t know the meaning of Azadi is not slavery of a fake country called Pakistan?” was one of the reactions posted on the video.

A few days back, Khan had landed himself in trouble after he had questioned the decision of the US to declare Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin a global terrorist. He had said that Syed Salahuddin is struggling only for freedom from India and was not linked to any terrorist group. He had also said that the US has never acknowledged what Pakistan has done to combat terrorism. He had added that it’s the Indian Army which is committing terrorism in occupied Kashmir. However, soon after he issued his statement, his office asked media organisations not to air nor publish the same.
By leaving this question unanswered, he has made himself a talking point yet again.
Hey @Masood__Khan, this journalist has a damn good point. Why don't you respond? Jab azaadi hi nahi hai to Azad Kashmir kyun kehte ho? https://t.co/TFL3JCPMeS
